If your microblading went wrong — too dark, asymmetric, turned grey or blue, strokes too thick or a shape you no longer like — you’re not alone. I regularly see clients in this situation during consultations. Here are the realistic options for correcting bad microblading in Montreal, explained honestly.

The 4 most common problems

1. Pigment has turned grey, blue or reddish

Older microblading pigments (still sometimes used today) degrade over time and shift toward cold tones. The blade that deposits pigment deep into the dermis makes this worse. The shift becomes most visible after 1 to 3 years.

2. The shape is asymmetric or too thick

If the initial mapping wasn’t mastered, or if the skin reacted by spreading the pigment, the result can be unbalanced or give an obviously « fake » look that can’t simply be « covered up. »

3. Strokes remained visible as scars

Even once the pigment has faded, the cuts can leave fine white or pink scars. This is especially visible after multiple cumulative microblading sessions.

4. The pigment doesn’t fully fade

Contrary to the myth of « semi-permanent that disappears, » microblading often leaves a ghost of residual pigment that can persist for years, even past the fade date originally promised.

Your correction options

Option 1: Laser removal (saline or PMU)

For cases where the pigment must be fully removed before any new work. Multiple sessions required, performed by a specialized esthetician or dermatologist. I don’t offer laser removal in my studio, but I can refer you.

Option 2: Covering with nano brows

If the residual pigment is pale and the shape is salvageable, I can cover the microblading with nano brows. The fine needle lets me draw new natural hair strokes that camouflage the old work. Learn more about nano coverage.

Option 3: Let it fade first

Sometimes the best option is to wait. I won’t work over brows that are still too pigmented — it would create a heavy result impossible to refine. In the free digital consultation, I’ll tell you honestly where you stand.

Free digital consultation

Send me 3 photos of your brows (front, 3/4, close-up) through the contact form. I’ll write back in 24-48h with my honest assessment: whether nano coverage is possible now, if you should wait, or if laser is needed first. No commitment, no pressure.
